It was consecrated in 1260 during the reign of St. Louis, with 175 artistic representations of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Arrive in Lisieux in the late afternoon.

Today in Lisieux we will visit the Buissonnets, birthplace of St. Therese. Visit the museum, the Carmel monastery, and the largest Basilica built for a saint, after St. Peter’s in Rome. We will view a special video presentation at the shrine about the life of St. Therese, the Little Flower.

6) Monday, Sept. 13: Pontmain (1 night)
Morning departure. We will stop at the American Cemetery of the

Morning in Pontmain, a magnificent shrine, and the scene of the apparitions of Our Lady on January 17, 1870, where Our Lady held a Cross, and gave a message of great hope). Eugene and Joseph Barbedette were the first witnesses of the apparitions. Some other children also saw the Virgin.
