Early evening flight from New York Area to Paris. Dinner and breakfast will be served on board.
2) Tuesday, Sept. 18: Paris (2 nights)
Morning arrival. We will see religious sites including Notre Dame de Paris,
Montmartres, the Shrine of the Sacred Heart, the Eiffel Tower, and the Arch of Triumph. Time permitting we will make brief stops at the church of St. Mary Magdalene, St. Augustine Church, and St, Sulpice Church. Welcome banquet at the hotel.
3) Wednesday, Sept. 19: Paris
Today, we will visit the beautiful Rue du Bac, site of the Miraculous Medal, where we will see the incorrupt body of St. Catherine Laboure, and the nearby church of St. Vincent de Paul, where his incorrupt heart is located and his body can be viewed. Then we will proceed to the Sainte Chapelle (location of the Lord's Crown of Thorns). Time permitting, we will visit Our Lady of Victories Church.
4) Thursday, Sept. 20: Ars (1 night)
Today we will leave for Nevers to visit the resting place of Saint Bernadette Soubirous, who saw Our Blessed Lady at Lourdes. St. Bernadette's body is incorrupt and kept in a reliquary in the Sisters of Nevers convent chapel. Then proceed to Paray le Monial. Visit the chapel of the Visitation Nuns where St. Margaret Mary Alocoque received the revelations of the Sacred Heart in 1673 to pray. Depart for Ars (not far from Lyon), the town that became the center of the apostolate of the holy Cure d'Ars, St. John Marie Vianney. We will visit his home and pray in the village church of the Cure. Then see his incorrupt body and incorrupt heart in the Shrine at Ars.
5) Friday, Sept. 21: La Salette (1 nights)
After our Mass, we will depart for La Salette (past Grenoble, near Corps). Then proceed to the beautiful and majestic Marian shrine. We will be staying in the Shrine itself, which is situated high in the Alps, and the site is breathtaking. (If you wish, you may request from the 101 Foundation, two free books about the shrine and messages of la Salette.)
6) Saturday, Sept. 22: St. Baume (1 night)
On the way at Marsaille, we stop at the new Shrine at Laus (not far from La Salette), then onward to the Basilica of Saint Maximin (14th C), where the tomb and a form of the head of St. Mary Magdalene can be seen. Fr. H. Lacordaire, in 1860, wrote that "The tomb of Mary Magdalene at St. Maximin is the third most important tomb in the world. It ranks immediately after the tomb of Our Savior in Jerusalem, and of St. Peter in Rome." Early lunch near the Cathedral. Then proceed to St. Baume to visit the shrine and mountain of St. Mary Magdalene. Optional climb up the mountain to see her holy hermitage. It is a long walk, but rather easy going, and it is interesting to see the church and the cave on the top of the mountain where Mary Magdalene lived.
7) Sunday, Sept. 23: Lourdes (3 nights)
Morning departure for Lourdes. Arrive in time for our afternoon Mass, 5 o'clock Eucharistic Procession, and dinner. Afterwards, optional participation in the beautiful evening candlelight Rosary procession.
8) Monday, Sept. 24: Lourdes
Visit the miraculous water of Lourdes for individual baths. After lunch, we will visit the Boli Mill (birthplace of Bernadette) and Le Cachot (jail where the family was living when Our Lady appeared). Afternoon video presentation on the life of Bernadette. Time permitting, we will visit the local Maximilian Kolbe Center and the St. Bernadette Church in town, where Fr. Peyramale's tomb rests in the crypt. Evening candlelight Rosary procession.
9) Tuesday, Sept. 25: Lourdes
In the afternoon, we will have a walking tour of the Basilica of the Rosary, which has the 15 decades of the Rosary depicted at 15 chapels. Then we will make the famous, and among the world's most beautiful, Stations of the Cross and walk the penitential way of the dolors. The 14 life-size stations wind up the hill beside the main Basilica. At its summit, before the great crucifix, pilgrims "kiss the ground for sinners" in obedience to Our Lady's injunction to Bernadette. We will participate in the 5 p.m. Eucharistic procession, especially for the blessing of the sick. Evening Rosary procession.
10) Wednesday, Sept. 26: home
This morning we will depart for our flights to the U.S., ariving there on the same day.
