First written in 1941, and sold out in just a few months, a new edition was finally released in 1947 after several years of refusal by the author. Soon this edition was also sold out and the author refused to have it reprinted again due to the highly personal character of the book. Finally reprinted in 1961, (and then soon to be reprinted as The Brother And I in 1971, see book sold below), this dramatic presentation is the authors own extra-ordinary life. Mr. Haffert relates: life seemed hardly to have begun when I wrote this book. Though it is autobiographical, I was not really writing about my life...but rather about something that happened to me. These remaining hardcover books are sure to be a rare collectors item.
